RUINED - The Price of Play: Everhide Rockstar Romance Series Book 2 Page 3
“I’m good with one.” She pressed her palm against the side of her face to cool down.
“We’re nowhere near done.”
Her eyes feasted on him as he stripped off his trousers and boxer-briefs and tossed them to the side. Wow! His entire body was manscaped—waxed chest, trimmed, manicured, and refined nether region. His erection, long and hard, stood gleaming before her. The tip shined with a droplet of pre-cum. Hmm. She’d love to taste him. Take him in her mouth and swirl her tongue around him.
“Kara?”
“Hmm?” She blinked and drew her gaze away.
A huge grin beamed across Hunter’s face. “You up for number two?”
She nodded. Hell yeah. She wanted that inside her.
He dug and searched around in the drawers beside him, cursed a few times, then pulled out a condom, and ripped it open. After rolling it onto his shaft, he snapped the rubber into place. Her pulse hadn’t had time to return to normal when he kissed her once again.
He pushed his knee between hers. With gentle nudges, he worked his erection toward her opening. Oh yeah. This was happening. Desperate to have him inside her, she slipped her hand between their bodies and guided him into place.
She couldn’t believe she was doing this. But to hell with consequences. She needed this to happen for herself—not anyone else.
He clutched onto her hips and slowly entered her. Just the tip. Just a fraction. The head of his throbbing cock burned hot against her arousal. Her heart couldn’t beat any faster. With her eyes locked onto his, their breaths panted in time. A muscle in his jaw ticked and he drew his brows together. With a deep thrust he penetrated her, hard, burying his full length inside her. She gasped and dug her fingernails into his back.
“Now that . . . being inside you . . . feels incredible,” Hunter growled, snaking his hand around her leg.
She wriggled her hips and allowed her body to adjust to his size. There was no pain—just a little bit of discomfort. All was good. “Just hurry up.”
“My pleasure.” Hunter’s broad smile curled into a wicked grin. He lowered his mouth to hers and moaned, gravelly and needy. He was really into this. Hot.
He drove into her, slamming her lower back against the wall. Sparks shot through her and hit every nerve ending. Ogling her jiggling boobs, the cutest smirk lit his face. With a tilt of his hips, he thrust hard and stayed buried deep inside her.
Her eyes widened. Oh wow. She drew up onto her tippy-toes. She clenched around him. Tighter and tighter and tighter. Rubbing and pulsing. Then snap. Her body exploded, shuddering against him.
“Holy shit!” She burst out laughing and wrapped her arms around his neck, entwining her fingers with his hair.
“Two.” He curled his arms around her waist, withdrew from her and guided her toward the bed.
She lay down on the mattress, her arms falling wide. “I’m done. I can’t possibly have another orgasm. I’ve never had more than one at a time in my life.”
He hovered over her body, licking and kissing one breast then the other. “You’ve been missing out.” He peered up, flicking his tongue over her hardened nipple. Where did he get his stamina from? Oh . . . fit rock star. That’s right. “And besides . . . I haven’t come yet. And I promised three.”
“You’re a machine.” How did he have such control? Didn’t she turn him on enough?
“That I am.” His eyes glistened. “I don’t think I can hold out much longer.” He nestled between her legs, drew one of her knees up towards his hips, and entered her.
Ow! The pressure of his penis against her uterus stung. She winced and clamped her teeth.
He stopped moving. “Kar? What’s wrong?”
Attentive, concerned, controlled. She wasn’t expecting that from him. She shook her head. “Nothing.” It was all right. Like always, nothing she couldn’t handle.
“My big cock too much for you?”
“Don’t flatter yourself. Your dick is decent. Not that big.” She wriggled around to find a comfortable position. Nothing was working. “Roll over.” She pushed against his chest.
He flipped down on to the mattress, and a hell-yeah grin lit his face. She giggled, mounted his hips and guided his shaft inside her.
This was better. Didn’t hurt as much.
Taking her weight onto her hands, she arched over him and kissed him. She pulsed and rocked her hips, rubbing hard, up and down, against him. Delectable pulses shot over her skin, and heat radiated toward her core.
He cupped her face and stroked her hair, flicked his tongue against hers. “God, you feel amazing.” Slipping his fingers between her legs, he strummed and stroked her clit. He knew exactly how to play her. From now on, she’d be jealous of any instrument ever held in his hands.
The veins on his neck bulged and his jaw tensed. “Keep fucking me like this, Kar, and I’m gonna blow real quick.”
Seeing him bite his lip, close his eyes and strain his muscles, lost in pleasure created by her, had a profound effect on her heart. It did her self-esteem wonders. “Like this?” She lowered onto him, taking him deep inside her.
“Uh-huh.” He cupped her breast, took the nipple into his mouth, and flexed his hips up to meet hers.
Her head fell back. His breath rushed like a desert wind over her skin. Digging his fingers into her hips, he tugged her against him. Drove into her. With one huge thrust, his head collapsed back into the pillow, and he stilled.
“Oh yeah,” he moaned. His whole body shuddered beneath her.
Seeing him orgasm was the most beautiful thing she’d ever witnessed. The grin quivering on his lips, eyes blazing blue, heat flushing his cheeks.
“Don’t stop.” Her legs shook beneath her. “I’m close.”
“I’ve no intention of stopping.” His fingers slipped back between her legs. She rubbed against him, and her every muscle screamed for release.
He drew her lips to his. Kissed her so hard her head spun. “Come for me,” he whispered, low and husky, nipping on her earlobe, nuzzling into her neck. That was all it took to send her over the edge.
“Number three.” He chuckled, running his warm hands over her back, her breasts, her thighs. Everywhere he touched tingled with electricity.
She struggled to catch her breath. “Show off.” She slapped him on the arm. “I didn’t think that was possible.”
“I can usually hold out longer.” He brushed the lose strands of her hair back from her face. “I lose control in this position. Or . . . you turned me on too much.”
“I doubt the latter.” She trailed her fingernails across his chest, circling his nipples, enjoying the way they hardened beneath her touch. But hell yeah . . . she’d taken him over the edge.
He patted her on the butt. “While I’d love to stay buried inside you all night, we have to move.”
She rolled her hips, savoring the feel of him inside her for one more second, before she slipped off his body and lay beside him. He discarded the condom in a tissue from his nightstand, and she grabbed the bedsheet and drew it over them. She needed a moment for her heartbeat to return to normal.
He shuffled around on the mattress to face her. His hair was a shaggy mess, his lips curled with the most adorable smile. With a glint in his eye, he traced his fingertips across her collarbone and drew the sheet lower and lower. “Wanna go for four?”
She smacked his hand away and realigned the sheet. Her cheeks burned with fire. Between her legs throbbed. She stung a little. And time was ticking. They had to get back to the party. Best to end on a high, not in a painful mess or be busted by their friends. “I don’t think I can handle another. We’re not here for an all-night marathon.” She glanced at her watch. 11:03p.m. “On that note, we better go.”
She went to get up, but Hunter caught her on the shoulder. He leaned in and kissed her, languid, slow, belly-coiling. “Mission accomplished.”
Her legs wobbled as she crawled out of bed and redressed. Hunter lay there, watching her. His eyes, blazing with shar
ds of blue fire, tempted her to go back for more.
“We’re done, Hunter.”
“Come on. One more.”
“No. Thank you.” Four? She wouldn’t be able to walk.
Hunter flopped against the pillow. “Spoilsport.”
Kara fixed her hair, straightened her dress, and slipped on her shoes. After using his bathroom, and the pulse between her legs had subsided, she headed across the room.
“Kara. Wait.”
But before her head and heart did something even more stupid, she opened the door. “Bye, Hunter. Thanks. That was fun.”
She stepped out and closed the door behind her. Resting her head back against the smooth surface, she let the coolness seep into her skin.
Wow.
That was, without a doubt, the best sex she’d ever had in her life. Ever.
They were the best orgasms. The best kisses. The hottest, craziest thing she’d ever done.
With Hunter . . . Fucking . . . Collins.
She giggled. She’d got what she wanted. To have sex before her operation. To have a few moments to forget about her problems. To have her curiosity well and truly sated. Damn . . . he was good. And best of all, no one would ever know they’d been together.
Chapter 3
Nineteen thousand screaming fans filled the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Blinding flashes from the bright stage lights and huge digital screens flickered in Hunter’s eyes. He was on show. And he loved it. Craved it. Flipping the mic in his hand and pumping his fist, he strutted and strode across the stage with Kyle and Gemma. Song after song, adrenaline coursed through his bloodstream like high-octane fuel.
But thoughts of Kara bombarded his mind. Gemma had said she was coming tonight. Kara never came to their concerts outside of New York. Why was she coming to this one? Was it to see him?
Crap.
He didn’t want her here. God no.
Shading his eyes from the spotlights, he glanced toward the crew area at the side of the stage. He still couldn’t see her.
Thank Christ.
What happened two weeks ago at Gemma and Kyle’s engagement party was nothing but alcohol-induced fun and games. It was one night and one night only with Kara. She was too smart, sophisticated, and intelligent to assume otherwise. Wasn’t she?
He rubbed at the unfamiliar tightness in his chest. Had he read Kara wrong? He hoped not. There would be no second round. Not ever.
Kyle shoved him on the shoulder and gave him a what-the-fuck glare. “Move it.”
Shit.
“Sorry, bud.” Hunter flicked his sweaty hair from his eyes and covered his mistake of missing his choreographed cue. With a quick skip and shuffle, he rushed to the other side of the stage. It was hard enough concentrating on lyrics and moves and singing without having distracting thoughts of Kara added into the mix.
As their backup band played the overture to their next song, Hunter grabbed his guitar from their technician, Hugh. They played, Gemma on lead guitar, Kyle on bass, and Hunter on rhythm. Stepping toward his mic, a shudder shot up his spine. He whipped his head around toward the crew area.
She’s here. Kara’s here. But . . . wow.
His breath hitched. There she stood, leaning up against the wall, with her long golden–brown hair hanging forward over her shoulder. His hand flinched, remembering how it felt to entwine his fingers through it. Her knit-dress that barely made it to mid-thigh showed off her gorgeous long legs. Legs he’d kissed every inch of. And those boots. Blood rushed to his groin at the sight of her black knee-high boots that screamed ‘come fuck me.’
Oh yeah!
How he’d love to strip her naked and nail her while she only wore those boots.
No. No. No. No. No.
If he wasn’t careful, he’d end up with a boner onstage.
He struck hard at his steel strings. The reverberations from the amps coursed through his body. Falling in sync with Gemma and Kyle, they churned out their number-one hit, “Come Back”.
Kyle flicked his long bangs off his face and cupped his mic to sing the first verse. His voice swung low and deep.
Do you think of me when you go to sleep at night?
Does your heart hurt knowing I’m not by your side?
I miss you in my arms and holding you so tight.
Hate not making love to you in the morning light.
Come back baby, please don’t make me beg.
I’m sorry if I was wrong or if it was something that I said.
Gemma took to the mic and the crowd screamed.
You used to call me baby when you kissed my lips.
You’d touch me all over, said I was yours for keeps.
You used to hold me close and we’d lose track of time.
Where did we go wrong? Because I didn’t see the signs.
Come back to me, baby, please don’t make me beg.
I’m sorry if I was wrong or if it was something that I said.
The audience waved their banners over their heads and cheered. Glancing around the auditorium Hunter absorbed the energy. He pressed his lips to the mic to sing the chorus. Just for fun, he threw Kara a wink.
So if you want me I’m right here waiting for you.
Don’t have to ask I’ll get down on my knees for you.
When I’m with you everything seems all so right.
You are the one I want for the rest of my life.
Without you near me I can barely breathe.
You belong here, by my side, right next me.
Come back to me, baby, please don’t make me beg.
He got nothing. No reaction. Not even a smile. It was like a stab to the chest. What was wrong with her? While he didn’t want her to throw herself at his feet, some small acknowledgment he’d rocked her world with three orgasms would have been nice. Where was the gratitude? The lasting impact?
Wow . . . maybe he wasn’t as good in bed as he thought.
Nah.
He was good. He was great at fucking. She couldn’t deny that.
Ripping out a riff, he let the roar from the fans repair the dent Kara made to his ego. No girl was worth losing his head over. He’d learned that the hard way. And would never make the same mistakes again.
After half a dozen more songs and an encore, pyrotechnics exploded.
Boom. Bang. Pop.
Another show done.
Glitter settled on the crowd, and Hunter sprinted offstage behind Gemma and Kyle. Past the crew, down the corridor and around the corner.
With the fan’s chanting and hollering still echoing in the auditorium, the rush from performing was like a heroin high. Sweeping past Kara, who was waiting at the door, they dashed inside their dressing room. She followed and stood too close to him for his liking. The scent of her floral perfume hit him like he’d been struck in the back of the head with a guitar. It sent him into a daze. So what if she smelled divine, like something he wanted to devour. He had to keep his dick in his pants.
But he had to know why she was here. Find out in his usual charming way by slathering on a coat of cheek and suaveness. He ripped off his T-shirt and wiped the sweat from his body with a towel. “Did you come all this way to see me, Kar? I’m flattered, but you shouldn’t have.”
She folded her arms and lifted her chin. “I didn’t. I came to see Gem, catch up with suppliers, and go to the ballet with my cousin for her birthday.” She scanned his sweaty chest, his abs and arms. Her cheeks flushed a rosy pink that matched the color of her lip gloss. “Would you like me to add something else to my plans?”
Shit. His gut clenched and he rushed to grab a fresh T-shirt from his backpack and pulled it on. Was she throwing him some usual banter or was she hinting at a rendezvous? He hoped not the latter, for her sake. She’d only end up disappointed.
Kyle threw him his jacket. “Hunt, here.” Hunter caught it just before it hit his face. “Hurry up.”
“Quick. Let’s go.” Gemma grabbed her duffel bag and Kara’s hand, and dragged her out the d
oor. “Run.”
Hunter picked up his backpack and fled down the passageway, following Kyle and the girls. Security ushered them into the waiting Mercedes van and slammed the door behind them. The car sped off into the night.
“This is crazy.” Kara’s eyes glistened, the city lights flickering across her face. “Why the rush to leave?”
Sitting next to Kara, Hunter rested his head back on the seat and tried to catch his breath. “We’ve gotta get back to the hotel before we’re mobbed.”
There would be no backstage parties tonight. Not when they had another show tomorrow.
Gemma sat next to Kyle on the seat opposite, her face still fiery red from the exertion of the show. “So Kar, is the plan to hang or go out tonight?”
Kara shuffled around on the seat. “If it’s all right, can we just hang? I’ve already checked into the hotel. Can we order room service and have a drink or two?”
Hunter grunted and rolled his head against the headrest. That figured. Stay in and be boring. Kara never went out much. She didn’t come to many of their parties, and if she did, she never stayed late. He’d known her for four years. All that time she’d been with Conrad. He could hardly recall a moment when he hadn’t seen her latched onto him.
Maybe that was why they broke up. She’d suffocated and smothered him. Screw that shit.
“I’m down with that.” Gemma wiped her hands on her skinny jeans. “Let me shower, then come to my room.”
The van veered sharply around a street corner. The tires screeched. On the slippery leather seats, Hunter slid against Kara. Shit. Should have my seatbelt on. With his thigh pressing into hers, heat flared across his skin. What the hell?
His gaze fell to the swell of her breasts. He could still feel them bare against his chest. His teeth nipping her flesh. Her hardened nipples in his mouth. The way her body shuddered underneath the flick of his tongue. Hmm . . .
Kara punched him in the arm and shoved against his chest—her hit was so light he didn’t even move. “Ew. Get off me. You’re all sweaty, and you stink.”
